Instructions

1. Go to Customize Journal.
2. Make sure you're on S2.
2. Select a new theme by searching for Flexible Squares, and click apply on one of the search results.
3. Set to sidebar on left.
4. Hit the customize selected theme button.
5. (customize your theme)
- (Display) Uncheck the two boxes under Navigation Strip. If you really want it you can leave it, but I think the layout looks better without it.
- (Sidebar) Set » Show the default user picture on the sidebar? - No.
- (Sidebar) Set » Show the blurb/free text in the sidebar? - yes, if you want to put in a short paragraph about the community or Kanata.
- (Sidebar) Set » Show the link list in the sidebar? - yes/no // I suggest no, because I think it looks better without it, but if there are links you want to add you can do yes.
- (Sidebar) Set » Show tags in the sidebar? - Yes // as this was the whole point of me making this layout, right? XD; I have the tags set on list in the preview, since cloud has this little bullet that I'm not sure how to get rid of.
- (Sidebar) Set » Show the page summary in the sidebar? - No.
- (Sidebar) Set » Show the calendar in the sidebar? - yes/no // it'll be disabled either way.
6. (Custom CSS) Set the three pulldowns to 'no', copy the following overrides and paste it into » Custom stylesheet, and save changes:



And hopefully everything works. ^^ Let me know if it doesn't or if there's something you want changed!

So lovely. <3 I love the artistic feel to this...I like the warm color scheme and the artistic name/title. <3 I especially like how the orange title-thing reminds me of a butterfly.

One small question though....was I supposed to adjust the header thing? Because I just noticed I have a lot (too many, hahaha) tags and they're sticking over onto the first users post...did I forget a step, perhaps?

Ahh I didn't realize there'd be that many tags. ^^; You'll have to use cloud instead of list to get it to all fit. The only problem is that I think a bullet shows up next to it. If it goes over the border of the layout, then if you go to this part:

sidebar {background-color: transparent; color: #54A976;width: 150px; height: 300px;text-align: left; float: left;margin-top: -325px; padding: 8px;}

and make the padding bigger it'll go in more so it won't override the border. I think 10px should be enough for that? You might have to play around with it a bit. ^^;

Ahh just one more thing I noticed, it seems the pictures have borders in the entries, which can get bothersome for people posting pictures with already made borders or icons, so I fixed the overrides for that (along with the tags thing--I also centered them) so you can get those in this entry now and replace them. Sorry about that. ^^;

Also, since LJ shows ads when you're not logged on, you might want to briefly change the comm into a plus account and make the ads between entries, and then change the comm back to basic. But that's only because I'm really picky about these things, so it's not necessary. XD;;

Sorry about making you go back and do all these things. X_X But let me know if there's any other problems. :D

Haha, ok well that's good then. ^^

It should be on the first page when you go to customize journal themes, right above where you choose the sidebar alignment--it only shows up on plus accounts so you'll have to be on that first.

Hi! Sorry to bother you again, but I was wondering if you wanted a layout for [info]kanata_hongo's profile? I made one for the community in mind if you would like to use it. ^^ You can see it here. These are the codes:



I do realize the profile layout doesn't really match with the comm layout that I made, but I wanted to use that Kanata picture because it's just so pretty (and unfortunately orange and blue just don't match with it). ♥

You can, of course, change the info I had written there, I had only wrote those as an example to fill the layout in. I did leave a space for community rule if you wanted to add that, otherwise you can just delete it. The links are changeable, but if you do use the layout, please keep the ones that say "Profile & Layout" and "Profile & Layout Codes" for crediting.

You don't have to use this if you don't want to though. I kinda just made it on impulse, so I could always save it for later use if you don't want it. :P
